Safety connection technology includes inductive safety sensors; a multi-function safety relay; safety light curtains and grids to protect plant personnel; and the Safety at Work system.

Safety light curtains offer area height protection of 160mm to 1510mm in intervals of 150mm and meet Type 2 and Type 4 IEC 61496 standards. Light grids are available in 2, 3 and 4-beam versions.

Safety at Work uses the standard AS-i protocol, which provides the backbone for a system to transmit safety-related information. Dynamic code sequences (8x4-bit data sequence) are stored in every safety module.

Multi-function safety relays are compatible with industry-standard safety devices. The versatile safety relays work with e-stops, light curtains, two-hand controls, mechanical safety switches and non-contact safety sensors.
